Srinagar: The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani continued to remain under house arrest on Friday, a spokesman of the amalgam said.
He said that Geelani was to offer Friday prayers at TRC here, but cordon around his Hyderpora residence was not lifted. “Geelani Sahib not being allowed to offer congregation prayers is sheer interference in religious affairs,” he added.
Meanwhile, Geelani termed his continued house detention as “worst form of oppression.” “Government claims that I am a free man. It is a blatant lie,” he added.
