Interracial Couple Banned From Kentucky Church

Kentucky church voted to ban interracial couples from membership and from participating in certain worship activities, Kentucky.com reports.

Though reminiscent of some Jim Crow-era mandate, the Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church actually made the decision earlier this month, following a visit from 24-year-old Stella Harville, daughter of the church's secretary and clerk, and her 29-year-old fiance, Ticha Chikuni, a native of Zimbabwe.

According to Harville's father, Dean Harville, Stella brought Chikuni to the church in June where they performed a song for the congregation.

Following the visit, pastor Melvin Thompson told Harville that his daughter and her fiance could not sing at the church again. Thompson later proposed that the church go on record saying that while all people were welcome to attend public worship services there, the church did not condone interracial marriage.

Ann Coulter Bleeped Out On 'Morning Joe'

"Morning Joe," after seeming to call John McCain a "douchebag."

Politico grabbed video showing Coulter, who is a supporter of Mitt Romney in the 2012 election, beginning to talk about consistency in politics. As she spoke, though, her sound was cut off for several seconds.

"I'd rather have — McCain was consistent, he was — we have Romney and Gingrich —" she said, before asking, "what did I say? Douchebag?"

"Just blur it all out," Joe Scarborough (who has had his own problems with language in the past) said.

"Well, they got the general drift," Coulter said.

She also had harsh words for Ted Kennedy. Speaking again about Romney's repeated policy shifts, she said, "I mean, you're flipping from positions you held when you came within five points of taking out that human pestilence. Come on, give the guy a break!

Inigo Martinez Goal - Full Video

Sunday's La Liga League match between Real Sociedad and Real Betis was locked at 2-2 in second half injury time after the full 90 minutes had been played. But Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez had different plans. After a Betis turnover, he received a pass on the defensive side of midfield. Given the scant time remaining, it certainly seemed a harmless position and there was no immediate Betis pressure on the ball. Sensing that his opponent was set to walk off the pitch and head for the dressing room, Martinez launched a shot from about 60 yards out. His sterling strike caught opposing goalkeeper Casto Espinosa out of position. The ball sailed directly over Espinosa's head, grazed the bottom of the crossbar and fell into the net for the game-winning, extra-time goal.

NASA Mars Curiosity Launch

The world's biggest extraterrestrial explorer, NASA's Curiosity rover, rocketed toward Mars on Saturday on a search for evidence that the red planet might once have been home to itsy-bitsy life.

It will take 8 1/2 months for Curiosity to reach Mars following a journey of 354 million miles.

An unmanned Atlas V rocket hoisted the rover, officially known as Mars Science Laboratory, into a cloudy late morning sky. A Mars frenzy gripped the launch site, with more than 13,000 guests jamming the space center for NASA's first launch to Earth's next-door neighbor in four years, and the first send-off of a Martian rover in eight years.

NASA astrobiologist Pan Conrad, whose carbon compound-seeking instrument is on the rover, had a shirt custom made for the occasion. Her bright blue, short-sleeve blouse was emblazoned with rockets, planets and the words, "Next stop Mars!"

Conrad jumped, cheered and snapped pictures as the rocket blasted off a few miles away. So did Los Alamos National Laboratory's Roger Wiens, a planetary scientist in charge of Curiosity's rock-zapping laser machine, called ChemCam.

Wiens shouted "Go, Go, Go!" as the rocket soared. "It was beautiful," he later observed, just as NASA declared the launch a full success.

The 1-ton Curiosity – as large as a car – is a mobile, nuclear-powered laboratory holding 10 science instruments that will sample Martian soil and rocks, and analyze them right on the spot. There's a drill as well as the laser-zapping device.

It's "really a rover on steroids," said NASA's Colleen Hartman, assistant associate administrator for science. "It's an order of magnitude more capable than anything we have ever launched to any planet in the solar system."

Reggie Love Reveals Obama's Annoying Habit

Obama's body man and basketball buddy Reggie Love announced earlier this month that he is leaving his job to go to business school, and now he is talking about his time inside the White House. In an interview with ABC News to air Tuesday night at 6:30 ET, Love says he spent so much time by the president's side that he witnessed many personal moments.

"If he had it his way, I think he'd floss in private," he says. "I think the fact that he was comfortable with me is probably a product of, you know, he's beaten down. I've been around for so long."

Love says Obama is "like a big brother" to him, and he sought his advice about the emotional decision to go back to school. ("He was very supportive.") When pressed to describe the president's annoying habits, Love tells ABC that Obama's aversion to air conditioning made some of their long car rides together uncomfortable.

"The thing that used to kill me is that the guy loves to ride around with the AC off in the summertime," Love says. "And I get hot. I start sweating. And I'm like, it's 80 degrees in this car. I'm going to pass out."

Love, 30, graduated from Duke University, where he played basketball and football. In 2006, he joined Obama's Senate office as an assistant and has stayed by the president's side ever since. He will leave his position by year's end and will soon enroll in the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

The new admission came out during pre-sentencing submissions after Martin was convicted of having sex with a person under 17 and producing child exploitation material.

Martin's defense had been a bit conspicuous, to say the least. According to ABC.net.au, the defense has maintained that medications the former Mayor of Glenorchy took for Parkinson's disease caused him to stray from his normal sexual patterns. While doctors testified that the medications altered the politician's behaviors, Martin was still found guilty of the charges.

World's Scariest Roller Coaster - Full Video

Austrian downhill coaster is nevertheless terrifying, as evidenced by this first-person video of the downhill plunge.

The single-pipe alpine coaster located in Mieders, Austria, is reachable only by taking a suspended cable car to the top of the mountain. Once at the top, riders sit on a small car equipped with a brake lever and zoom down the steep mountainside. But this brave soul decided to show us what it would be like without using the brake lever through the entire ride.

Thrill-seekers looking for an even more extreme ride can always give the world's fastest roller coaster a try, which can be found at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Formula Rossa achieves speeds of up to 150 miles per hour by using an "aircraft carrier-like hydraulic launch system" to propel cars along the track.

American Music Awards 2011- Full Video

Taylor Swift was crowned artist of the year at the American Music Awards for a second time.

"This is so crazy!" the country superstar said after beat such contenders as Adele, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to capture all three awards that she was nominated for at Sunday's ceremony, including artist of the year, the show's highest accolade that she previously claimed in 2009.

"I ended up writing the record by myself, so the fact that you would honor it this way, you have no idea what this means to me," said Swift after winning the trophy for favorite country album for "Speak Now." She was also awarded the prize for favorite country female artist.

Nicki Minaj, the pink-loving hip-hop diva, won two awards Sunday. She kicked off the 39th annual fan-favorite ceremony by sporting a pair of speakers on her much-talked about posterior and was later honored as favorite rap/hip-hop artist, besting a group that included mentor Lil Wayne, and won favorite rap/hip-hop album for "Pink Friday."

"There's so much love in this room," beamed the pink-haired Minaj.

Adele had been the night's leading nominee with four nods, but didn't have much of a presence at the show: She was absent from the ceremony because she is recovering from recent throat surgery. Adele tied Swift with three awards: favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album for "21."

Other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Blake Shelton as favorite country male artist, Lady Antebellum as favorite country band/duo/group, Beyonce as favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for "Loud" and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.

The ceremony inside the Nokia Theatre in an unusually rainy Los Angeles was drenched with 17 musical performances.

Justin Bieber got in the holiday spirit among a forest of neon lights with "Under the Mistletoe," and Kelly Clarkson, wearing a glittery red gown with her hair swept to the side, delivered a swinging rendition of her hit "Mr. Know It All" as back-up dancers dressed as 1930s-era photographers snapped the first-ever "American Idol" champion.

'Cursing' Baby Doll Upsets Parents (VIDEO)

A talking baby doll available at Toys "R" Us is upsetting some parents, who claim it has a potty mouth.

Some customers are calling for the "You & Me Interactive Play & Giggle Triplet Dolls" to be pulled from shelves because they say one of the dolls can be heard uttering, "You crazy bitch."

"I did hear that. I wouldn't want that for my child. Definitely not," Denise Altschule told FOX23 in Tulsa, Okla.

Another mother told WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Fla., that she feared her son could pick up the curse word from the doll. "I don't want him repeating what's on there," she said.

The dolls, which are intended for children 2 and up, are being sold exclusively at Toys "R" Us stores. A Toys "R" spokeswoman told FOX23 that the retail store has not received widespread complaints and said the offending phrase is just baby talk.

Yale Tailgate Party Accident

A driver of a U-Haul truck carrying beer kegs through a tailgating area before the Yale-Harvard game Saturday suddenly accelerated, fatally striking a 30-year-old Massachusetts woman and injuring two other women, police said.

It's not clear why the driver sped up, New Haven Police spokesman David Hartman said. The truck then crashed into other U-Haul vans in the lot, an open playing field used for pre-game tailgating parties before Yale home games in New Haven.

Tim Walker of Pawtucket, R.I., said he was grilling sirloin tips when he heard the crash behind him. He turned and saw two people lying on the ground.

People huddled around them trying to help, according to a video that appears to have been recorded shortly after the accident and posted online. "We're not getting a pulse," said someone crouched near one victim, while the cameraman notes the ambulance hasn't arrived.

After emergency officials arrived, Walker said, he saw one victim being given CPR as she was taken away.

"The driver looked shocked. Absolutely shocked," Walker said. Police have not said whether alcohol was a factor.

"He didn't look intoxicated or anything like that," Walker added. "He had a dazed look like he had just hit someone."

Hartman said the driver was in police custody.

He said the woman who was killed was pronounced dead at about 10:15 a.m. at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Police did not immediately release her identity. The fans had gathered for the 128th game of the Ivy League rivalry, which Harvard won 45-7 for its fifth straight victory over Yale. Three hours after the accident, the loud tailgating continued in the lot, with music blaring from large speakers and fans grilling hot dogs, sausage and hamburgers. Some students danced on top of other rental trucks.

The accident scene was cordoned off by yellow police tape, and a dozen numbered evidence placards were on the ground. The three rental trucks involved in the accident were still at the scene, stacked one against another from the collision.

Purse Thief Stripped Naked In Chile - Full Video

In one of the weirder videos we've seen since, well, this one, a Chilean purse thief was stopped and stripped naked by a "vigilante horde," according to Gawker.

The incident, filmed by a passerby on his cell phone in the town of Providencia then later reported by Chilean news station Mega Noticias, occurred when a man tried to snatch an old woman's purse on the sidewalk of an underpass. When he failed to grab the bag and run, he was surrounded by a group of twisted-minded citizens who proceeded to rip off all of his clothes -- except his shirt, which they made him remove himself.

Then onlookers pelted him from above with coins and empty bottles.

Moral of the story: Chileans take their purse snatching very seriously and would like to see you naked.

Occupy Wall Street - Full Video

Occupy Wall Street protesters took to the streets on Thursday, journalists once again found themselves a target of police violence and arrests.

Reporters took to Twitter and, in some cases, to television to spread the word of the heavy hand police were using against them. It appeared to be a repeat of a similar scene two days earlier, when journalists were roughed up and arrested as the NYPD forcibly cleared the Occupy Wall Street encampment in lower Manhattan.

Lucy Kafanov, a reporter for the RT television network, said she was hit with a police baton while trying to film the protests. She told another reporter for her network that she had her press credentials clearly visible, but was still struck. She also said that she witnessed another reporter from the IndyMedia network being "slammed against the wall" and arrested.

"It does not seem police are making a distinction between press and protesters," she said. Other journalists reported similar incidents.

Justin Bieber: Who's-the-daddy DNA test looms, text casts doubt

Justin Bieber's maybe-baby saga continues, even though Mariah Yeater, the woman who claims the singer is the father of her child, withdrew her paternity suit last week.

Yeater has since fielded new legal representation and reportedly wants to settle out of court -- Bieber is still planning to take a DNA test -- even as a compromising text message allegedly sent by the new mom has surfaced.

Yeater still wants the test, according to her new attorney, Jeffrey Leving -- they just want to do it privately, with both sides bound by confidentiality agreements. Sources on the Bieber side told TMZ there had been no settlement discussions, but said there might have been contact regarding DNA test terms. The singer's publicist told E! News that he intends to take the test.

So about that text message, which was obtained by TMZ from the recipient, who said it was sent by Yeater: The sender asks her male friend to "pleeease" erase any messages from her mom in which ex-boyfriend Robbie was named as the father. Then an offer is made to "kick u when we get paid."

Irony: In the text, the sender tells the recipient, "im trusting you" -- which might in hindsight seem silly, given that all the recipient asked TMZ to redact from the text-message picture was, well, his name.

Attorney Leving told E! News that he was checking whether the text was authentic. "Do I know if that is true or not?" he said. "No, but I do intend to look into that as it was just brought to my attention."

Leving is the one who'd said the lawsuit was pulled because of death threats and the media storm around his client. "It's better that it's handled out of court which is in the best interests of everybody," he said Wednesday. (Someone should have mentioned that death threats are nothing unusual among the Bieber fans?)

No one believed 15-year-old Julio Artuz when he said he was being bullied by a teacher at school -- not even his parents.

So the special needs student sought proof, by filming an encounter with said teacher at Bankbridge Regional School in New Jersey, NBC10 reports.

"Don't call me special," Artuz told the teacher.

"What? Oh my god, f-ing. What does the sign on the front of the school say? Special education," the teacher yelled back.

Artuz defended himself by saying that when he got out of the school, the teacher couldn't call him special anymore. In response, the teacher made a threat.

"...I will kick your a-- from here to kingdom-come until I'm 80 years old."

In a statement to NBC10, the school district said officials take allegations of harassment seriously and are carrying out an investigation.

Penn State Scandal

NBC's "Rock Center" on Monday evening is that many others connected to the sexual abuse scandal have felt compelled to share their stories.

Along with the mother of the boy identified as "Victim 1" in the grand jury report -- which details 40 counts of abuse against eight boys over 15 years -- another concerned mom has stepped forward. Debra Long, the biological mother of Matt Sandusky, spoke with "Good Morning America" about her son's relationship with the accused sexual predator. Her son was placed under Sandusky's care after he ran afoul of the law as a 10-year-old. Although Sandusky eventually adopted Matt, Long never had her parental rights taken by the court.

She eventually became concerned with Sandusky's behavior and her son's well being. Speaking with ABC, she outlined what she believed to be Sandusky's strategy for wooing his alleged victims.

"It was Jerry Sandusky. You know? Any 10-year-old kid is going to be impressed by Penn State football. And then it was the gifts: money and clothing and whatever," Long said during an exclusive interview with ABC's Jim Avila.

Matt was the youngest adopted child of Sandusky and Long reports the relationship began positively but soured, leaving her son fearful of the former Penn State football coach.

Justin Bieber's Paternity Suit Dropped

Selena Gomez is speaking out about the paternity lawsuit against boyfriend Justin Bieber – which was dropped last week.

“What a crazy last two weeks it’s been in the news,” Ellen DeGeneres told Selena on Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

“To say the least,” the 19-year-old singer/actress said. “I have been [alright.]”

The case filed by Mariah Yeater, who claimed Bieber fathered her 3-month-old baby, was dismissed last week. Bieber and his reps have denied the woman’s claims from the start.

“It’s good to just kind of…be good,” Selena added. “It’s not easy.”

On Tuesday, a rep for Beiber told Access, “As we’ve said from the beginning, it’s sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claim. We’ll continue to consider all of our options to protect Justin.”

Earlier this month, the Canadian singing superstar told Matt Lauer during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show, “To set the record straight, none of it is true… never met the woman.”

Mila Kunis In GQ

Perhaps it's because she's gorgeous and talented and knows everyone wants to work with her. Maybe she doesn't much care. Or perhaps it's just something about interviewing with GQ. Whatever it is, Mila Kunis isn't afraid to speak her mind.

Named the magazine's "Knockout of the Year," the title could just as easily have been bestowed for her candid statements about Hollywood, too. While many stars spend their time in interview after interview pitching their integrity and devotion to the finest aspects of film, Kunis is realistic about how she makes her living.

“I love what I do, but my theory is that it's people who doubt what they do and want to prove it to you, they're like 'It's art. I create art. It's art, art, art,'" she tells the magazine in their new issue. "I'm like, Holy sh*t, are you f*cking kidding me? I run around and pretend I'm someone else for twelve hours; I record 'Family Guy' [she voices Meg]. Then I get to go home and watch 'Jersey Shore.'"

The World Still Too Scandalous For Media-Savvy Facebook!

Whether we attribute it to the power that women hold over men, the unconscious envy of men denied the facility to give birth, or Courbet's audacity to paint a frank image of a vagina as art in 1866, L'Origine du monde (Origin of the World), still has enough power to scandalize the censors at the social media giant, Facebook. Enough, in fact, that Facebook not only removes the image of the painting, they also suspend the Facebook accounts that post it.

At least that's what well-known painter, installation sculptor, and media artist Matthew Weinstein found out this week. Weinstein, who has shown his work at the Sonnabend Gallery in New York City for nearly two decades, found that his Facebook account was suspended after doing no more than posting the art-historical icon, and despite it being one of the biggest draws of international audiences to the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

Wilson Ramos Kidnapped

Venezuelan police rescued Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos on Friday, two days after he was kidnapped, officials announced.

Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said on state television that Ramos was "safe and sound" and that he was rescued by police. He said the circumstances weren't immediately clear.

Information Minister Andres Izarra initially announced the news on Twitter, saying: "The baseball player Ramos found alive by security forces in mountainous zone."

Armed men seized Ramos at gunpoint Wednesday night outside his home in a working-class neighborhood in the city of Valencia. Authorities said Thursday that they had found a stolen SUV used by the kidnappers abandoned in a nearby town.

The abduction was the first known kidnapping of a major league baseball player in a country that has dozens of players on big league rosters in the U.S., and it brought a renewed focus on worsening violent crime in Venezuela.

Marilyn Monroe Photos Show Icon As You've Never Seen Her Before (PHOTOS)

Marilyn Monroe than any other woman in history. An American icon, certainly - she now belongs to the world. Her private life in particular has been approached from every conceivable angle. The book that I put together tries to avoid that by celebrating the public Marilyn. It pictorially chronicles her evolving beauty and style over the twenty years of her life, from 1942 to 1962.

It wasn't easy to do.

Editing her extraordinary body of photographic work down to one 320 page book was an enormous task. Marilyn posed for almost every major photographer in the world. Not only that, she pretty much said "No" to nobody. So if you were on the street with a brownie box camera, and you politely asked to take her photo, chances are she would say "Yes," AND she would take direction - "new" photos are continually surfacing. I also felt a big responsibility when editing out many of them. I wanted to give a wide range of diversity to the choices featured while trying to keep in mind what Marilyn may have wanted, as she was highly critical of herself.

Rick Perry's Epic Debate Flop

Rick Perry (R) had the most memorable moment of Wednesday night's CNBC debate, even though it was a moment when he couldn't remember what he was talking about.

Perry tried to name the three federal agencies he would like to eliminate if he is elected president, but he was able to name just two: the Commerce and Education Departments.

Perry received some assistance from Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), who suggested that he should actually eliminate five agencies. At another point, someone else helpfully suggested that perhaps Perry was talking about the Environmental Protection Agency. He said that agency wasn't it, and ended with a simple, "Oops":

Brian Grazer: Oscar Producer After Brett Ratner Resignation

“Brian Grazer is a renowned filmmaker who over the past 25 years has produced a diverse and extraordinary body of work,” Tom Sherak, President of the Academy said in a statement. “He will certainly bring his tremendous talent, creativity and relationships to the Oscars.”

Added Grazer: “It’s very gratifying to be part of a show that honors excellence in the medium to which I have devoted so much of my career. Don is a legend, and I am excited to work with him.”

PREVIOUSLY: Brian Grazer is swooping in to try and save the Academy Awards.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning producer has agreed to take over producing the awards telecast following the exit of Brett Ratner, who resigned Tuesday night after making a series of controversial statements over the past week. A statement from the Academy, THR reports, is on its way.

One of Grazer's first jobs will be to find a new host for the show; Ratner's choice to host, Eddie Murphy, stepped down earlier on Wednesday. Grazer did produce "Tower Heist," the new film in which Ratner directs Eddie Murphy, so there could be a chance he could convince Murphy to stay.

Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries Fight In 'Kourtney & Kim Take New York' Trailer

Kim Kardashian's ever so brief marriage to Kris Humphries was authentic and not some promotional gimmick, the marketing gurus at E! are taking full advantage of the public divorce proceedings.

While the union lasted just 72 days, much of that time was spent in front of TV cameras filming the fourth season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York." And given its enormous ratings potential, Kris Jenner told Jay Leno on Tuesday that Humphries will not be edited out of the footage.

"We decided a long time ago when we first started doing these shows that we were going to be really just raw and not edit ourselves, and we don't take stuff out, as you see all the time, so I think everybody will get a really fascinating glimpse into the kids journey in New York City," she told the late night host.

And thus, from a first look at the new trailer for the show, it seems like it will be anything but edited out: marital discord is the clear theme this season.

Mariah Yeater's Attorney: We Hoped To Settle With Justin Bieber Out Of Court

Justin Bieber has reportedly agreed to take a paternity test to prove he's not the father of 20-year-old Mariah Yeater's three-month-old son, but lawyers for the woman claim they had hoped to settle the matter out of court.

RadarOnline reports that Jeffery Leving, one of Yeater's attorneys, appeared on "Lifechangers with Dr. Drew" on Tuesday and claimed they tried to contact Bieber's lawyers before the lawsuit had been filed and never received a response.

Of course, settling out of court would have theoretically meant avoiding the media circus the lawsuit has brought for both parties, but it also suggests that Yeater's case is not as strong as she claims.

Leving told the show he wants a "carefully supervised" DNA test to establish paternity, adding that the wealthy shouldn't be able to bully a single mother. "Justice is not a luxury for the rich," he said.

Until the results of the paternity test are in we can't say for sure who is lying, but Yeater's recent appearance on "The Insider," did not seem to help her case.

Carmen Dell'Orefice, 80-Year-Old Model

Carmen Dell'Orefice, "the world's oldest working model" who turned 80 just this year.

With Vogue covers in her past and runways still in her present, Carmen seems to have it all -- but we didn't realize until this recent Telegraph interview that the fashionable octogenarian has actually lost quite a great deal.. to Bernie Madoff.

In an extended conversation touching on her life's major moments, Dell'Orefice talks about ageing ("if you're over a certain age, you better keep your bra on because nothing's worse than saggy duds") as well as her ongoing career.

She is still working into her eight decade, she says, because she has to. "The banks always want something. They're deciding even now whether to shovel me out of my little apartment..." she says, referring to the mess of papers on her table.

Hewitt: Referendum a 'gamble'

Suddenly the Greek deal - which was a key plank in last week's eurozone agreement - is up in the air.

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou surprised his own party and parliament by announcing a referendum and a vote of confidence.

"If the Greek people do not want it," he said, "it will not be adopted."

And if that happens the eurozone will be thrown into fresh uncertainty.

Last week, eurozone leaders agreed a second Greek bailout worth 130bn euros as well as banks agreeing to take 50% losses on their holdings of Greek debt.

Greece debt crisis: Referendum promised on EU deal

Last week eurozone leaders agreed on a 100bn-euro loan (£86bn; $140bn) to Athens and a 50% debt write-off, in a effort to tackle the euro crisis.

But there have been large-scale protests in Greece against austerity measures demanded by the EU.

Analysts say a referendum could derail the wider deal on the euro debt crisis.

The Greek rescue package is a key part of the agreement reached last week after marathon talks between eurozone leaders.

They said banks holding Greek debt accepted a 50% loss, the eurozone bailout fund will be boosted to about 1tn euros and banks will have to raise more capital.
